In this edition we once again look back at some of the main results of the past week. Real Madrid CF won the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018 by beating the local side Al Ain FC 4-1 in the final. This is also the third time the champions have won the tournament. In the World 9-ball Pool Billiards Championship held in Doha, Germany's Joshua Filler won his first world championship. The final was won 13-10 against Carlo Biado from the Philippines. In the final World Surf League professional event for 2018, Gabriel Medina of Brazil won the Billabong Pipe Masters held in Oahu.
The Olympia London Horse Show comes to an end today, but we soon head over to Mechelen in Belgium for the Jumping Mechelen 2018 from Wednesday to Sunday. World Chess also resumes after a short break with the Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship 2018 to be hosted in St. Petersburg from Christmas Day. Traditionally Boxing Day is also a favourite for cricket supporters with three tests starting on Wednesday. Australia play India in the third test, New Zealand play Sri Lanka in their second test, while South Africa play the tourists Pakistan in their first test. This week there are Alpine, Ski Jumping and Cross-Country World Cups in various locations in Europe. Vancouver will host the 2019 IIHF World Men U20 Ice Hockey Championship starting on Wednesday until the 5th January. In addition, the main Darts tournament of the year is still in progress in London until New Year's Day.
