19th - 23rd June
It has been a quieter week for sports results, especially considering the time of the year. The World Trade Center Halls in Dubai was the main attraction as the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation staged their biggest competition of the season. The United States produced an incredible game of strategy to claim victory against Great Britain by just one point (67-66) and become World Champions for the seventh time in the men's competition, the maximum by any team in a World Championship. Already Tokyo 2020 Paralympic champions, the USA avenged their loss to Great Britain in 2018. The Netherlands, the other star attraction of the competition and also Paralympic champions, successfully defended their women's title, overrunning China by 57-34.
Over the cycling news where Switzerland's Marlen Reusser won the third edition of the Tour de Suisse Women's race. The multi-stage road race forms part of the UCI Women's WorldTour. Krakow in Poland hosted the Union Européenne de Cyclisme BMX Freestyle European Continental Championships - Park. The Elite Champions are Czechia's Iveta Miculyčová and Great Britain's Kieran Reilly. Two further continental champions feature in Nilai in Malaysia. These were the Asian Track Championships and the Asian Para Track Championships. Full results can be viewed here:
