In a nail-biting finish to the match, USA secured the World Aquatics Women's Water Polo World Cup finals held in Long Beach, California. Leading 8-3 at one stage, the champions eventually overcame the Netherlands 12-11 to lift their fourth consecutive World Aquatics World Cup and fifth overall. Even though the final score was very close, USA's impressive dominance in women's water polo shows a remarkable run of form. In the bronze medal match, Spain beat Hungary 18-15. Another mention should also go to Israel after they downed New Zealand 12-11 with a last-minute goal to secure their first victory at this level.

In Ljubljana, Slovenia, Belgium made history after their maiden title in the FIBA Women's Eurobasket. The victory came against four-time tournament winners Spain in Sunday's Final. As we approach the start of Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the year, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz makes a timely return to No.1 on the ATP rankings after securing his first grass-court title at The Queen’s Club. In professional boxing news, Argentina's Fernando Martinez beat Jade Bornea of the Philippines to retain the IBF world super-flyweight title in Minneapolis.

Great Britain's Beth Potter and Australia's Matt Hauser reigned in Montréal at the next stage of the 2023 World Triathlon Championship Series. Part of the VinFast North America Series, Jodie Robertson and Chris Leiferman won the 2023 IRONMAN Coeur d'Alene. The Slovenian Armed Forces were the event organisers of the 2nd World Military Championship Climbing. Local star Mia Krampl and Czechia's Sascha Lehmann became the Lead champions. Slovenia reigned again in the Boulder discipline with Janja Gambret claiming gold, while the men's winner is France's Mickael Mawem. Finally, Speed champions are Poland's Patrycja Chudziak and Ukraine's Kostiantyn Pavlenko.

After round 4 of Formula Drift, USA's Matt Field leads the overall standings. Saturday's race at Englishtown in New Jersey was won by fellow countryman Adam LZ. France's Sebastien Ogier stamped his authority on the World Rally Championship Safari Rally Kenya, which moves him to third on the overall standings. Portland, Oregon, hosted round 12 of the FIA Formula E World Championship. Envision Racing and New Zealand's Nick Cassidy drove a superb race to take victory, moving him to second in the overall standings. Ross Chastain won at the Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday, the next race of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series

The Netherland's Puck Pieterse and Romania's Vlad Dascalu are the Elite Cross-Country Olympic winners of the UEC Mountainbike European Continental Championships held in Krakow, Poland. Papendal in the Netherlands hosted round 3 and 4 of the UCI BMX Racing World Cup. Australia's Saya Sakakibara and France's Romain Mahieu are the Elite winners on Saturday, while victory on Sunday went to Great Britain's Bethany Shriever and France's Joris Daudet. The UCI Cycle-Ball World reached stage three over the weekend in Dornbirn, with first place going to Germany's Bernd Mlady and Gerhard Mlady. Val Di Fassa Trentino in Italy hosted the UCI MTB World Cup. Elite Enduro titles were claimed by France's Isabeau Courdurier and New Zealand's Matthew Walker. France was successful again through Laura Charles and Kevin Marry in the Enduro Electric.

Two-time Grand National Champion Briar Bauman took victory at the Lima Half-Mile, the next round of the Progressive American Flat Track. Poland’s triple world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik was the home hero after claiming the FIM Speedway GP of Poland. Italy's Francesco Bagnaia extended his lead in the overall standings after victory at the Motul TT Assen, round 8 of the FIM MotoGP World Championship. The Netherland's Etienne Bax and Czechia's Ondřej Čermák won both races in Lommel, Belgium, of the FIM Sidecarcross World Championship. At the tenth round of the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship in Sumbawa, Indonesia, Spain's Jorge Prado was voted the best rider of the weekend. 

Germany's Christian Ahlmann aboard Mandato van de Neerheide made an incredible comeback in Paris to secure top spot of the Longines Global Champions Tour. The village of Orlické Záhoří in Czechia's hosted the FIS Grass Skiing World Cup over the weekend. Local star Sarka Abrahamova and Italy's Daniele Buio reigned in the Giant Slalom, while the Super G champions are Czechia's Lenka Knorova and Switzerland's Mirko Hueppi. Egypt's Nouran Gohar and Mostafa Asal are the champions of the CIB Professional Squash Association World Tour Finals. China's Ruoning Yin won by one shot in the KPMG Women's PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey. 

Spain's Costa Brava was the perfect location for the Optimist World Championship. Sweden's Henric Wigforss lead a strong field to become world champion. Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez became the women's champions of the Valladolid Master, with the men's title going to Martin di Nenno and Franco Stupaczuk. The competition forms part of the World Padel Tour
