A late Luciano Rodriguez goal gave Uruguay their maiden title and victory over Italy in the final of the FIFA U20 World Cup that was held in Argentina. What makes the goal so special is that Rodriguez was a returning player from an earlier suspension received in a match against The Gambia. Uruguay as a nation will breathe a sigh of relief, as this was also their third appearance in a final of this particular age group competition.
Bonnyville, a town in Alberta, Canada, hosted the next round of the World Professional Chuckwagon Association tour. In relatively hot conditions, it was Obrey Motowylo, driving the Choquet Insurance Group Ltd, claiming victory on Sunday. Motowylo now leads the Driver Standings, with the Outrider Standings lead by Rory Gervais.
The Professional Pickleball Association tour spend the week in San Clemente, California. Anna Leigh Waters and Tyson McGuffin are the Singles Champions. Waters then teamed up with Ben Johns to claim victory in the Mixed Doubles. To cap off a fantastic tournament, Waters added the Women's Doubles trophy to her collection with team mate Catherine Parenteau. Siblings Ben Johns and Collin Johns continue their great form by winning the Men's Doubles. Waters is ranked No. 1 in the world for doubles, No. 1 for mixed doubles, and No. 1 for singles by the Professional Pickleball Association.
Martin Truex Jr. secured his 33rd career victory and third of the current season at the Sonoma Raceway on Sunday, moving him to the top of the standings. The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series next moves to Nashville, Tennessee, for 300 laps of the Nashville Superspeedway.
