We begin Part 2 with a roundup of motor racing. Max Verstappen won his 41st Grand Prix win of the FIA Formula One World Championship, including helping his team Red Bull to their 100th victory. The win in Canada also equals the late Ayrton Senna's tally. Sebastian Vettel was the first driver in 2009 to bring victory to Red Bull. Verstappen now has 195 points after six wins. Spain's Alex Palou made it back-to-back victories after winning the Sonsio Grand Prix at Road America, Round 8 of the NTT IndyCar Series. Palou further extends his lead at the top of the standings. Kenton Koch and Daniel Morad in their Mercedes AMG TR3 won Race 1 and 2 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America, making it a clean sweep for the team.
USA's Wyndham Clark has beaten Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy by one shot to win the US Open in Los Angeles, the third golf major of the year. In football news, Spain has edged Croatia on penalties in the Nations League Final. Spain follows the Nations League title with their World Cup triumph in 2010 and three European Championship titles.
In darts news, Wales's Gerwyn Price and Johnny Clayton easily overcame Scotland's Peter Wright and Gary Anderson by 10-2 to win the Professional Darts Corporation World Cup of Darts. Chile's Moises Silva has won the 2023 International Bodyboarding Corporation Itacoatiara Pro hosted in Rio de Janeiro. Canada's Emma Clark and Spain's Antonio Martinez have taken victory in the Ultra Skyrunning Madeira, the next race of the Skyrunner World Series. Spain's Toni Bou has further extended his lead in the FIM TrialGP World Championship in Sant Julià de Lòria, Andorra.
