Skibobbing is a winter sport that involves sitting on a bicycle-type frame where the wheels are replaced by a set of skis. The week opens in France's Val d'Arly for the first FISB Skibob World Cup of the new season. Heerenveen in the Netherland's hosts the next IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship for Under 18 Women Division II, Group A. Joining the events on Monday are the São Paulo 2024 World Deaf Youth Games.

Ski jumping resumes in Szczyrk, located in southern Poland, where the men are involved in an FIS World Cup competition. Tuesday is dominated by snow sports with Austria hosting a Women's Alpine World Cup in Flachau, a Men's Alpine World Cup in Kitzbuehel, and a Snowboard World Cup in Bad Gastein. Switzerland's Laax follows up with another Snowboard World Cup that includes Slopestyle and Halfpipe. 

On Wednesday Telemark experts are out in force by the Carezza Dolomites in Italy competing in the FIS Sprint World Cup. Freestyle skiers then join the snowboarders in Laax for the FIS Freeski Slopestyle World Cup.

We begin Thursday at the Zao Ski Resort in Japan for an FIS Women's Ski Jumping World Cup. Finland hosts the annual Pajulahti Games that include sports like showdown, boccia, athletics, judo, and powerlifting. The major equestrian competition of the week takes us to Germany's Leipzig for an FIE Jumping and Driving World Cup. Italy's Rasen-Antholz hosts the next IBU Biathlon World Cup. Snowmobile racing fans are in Wisconsin's Eagle River for the 61st World Championship Snowmobile Derby. The day completes in Canada's Nakiska where freestyle skiers compete at the FIS Ski Cross World Cup.

As Paris is preparing for the Olympic Games later this year, South Korea's Gangwon brings the best future stars together at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games beginning on Friday. Already a major sport in Finland, the town of Mikkeli hosts the Federation of International Bandy 2024 World Championship Boys age group 17. Poland's Zakopane is the venue for the second FIS Ski Jumping World Cup of the week. On this occasion the men compete in the Large Hill HS140 event. Austria is the nation for two luge competitions. The 5th Junior World Cup features in Bludenz, while the natural track at Umhausen hosts the 3rd FIL Luge World Cup and Eliminator. Across the border to Germany, Oberhof brings the best cross-country skiers together at the FIS World Cup. Cricket's young stars convene in South Africa to compete at the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup. The second FIB Bandy World Championship features in Oslo for boys age group 19. Ouagadougou or Wagadugu, the capital of Burkina Faso and an annual location for the mind sport draughts, will again have a strong field of participants at the Ouaga World Cup 2024. Freestyle skiers head to Canada's Val St Côme to compete in an FIS Moguls World Cup. Young bowling experts are in Peru's Lima at the International Bowling Federation World Youth Cup. We move over to Salt Lake City for a major speed skating competition. The International Skating Union presents the Four Continents Speed Skating Championships

The weekend begins in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with the first of five FIE Junior Fencing World Cup events. The other four on Saturday are in Croatia's Zagreb, France's Aix-en-Provence, Spain's Segovia, and USA's Boston. Bulgaria's Pamporovo becomes the third location for an FIS Snowboard World Cup. We also have the third FIS Alpine World Cup of the week in Jasna, Slovakia. The women compete in Giant Slalom and Slalom. The Worldloppet Ski Marathon season continues with two 42km gold label races in Lienz, Austria. At another resort not too far from there, the All Terrain Skate Cross Federation presents the first race of the new season in Winterleiten. The best Junior and Under 23 bobsleigh experts begin their quest for gold at St. Moritz-Celerina, Switzerland for their IBSF World Championships. Andorra's Arinsal is the next home of the International Ski Mountaineering Federation World Cup for seniors. We are again at Wisconsin's Eagle River for the second snowmobile championships in the week. The 47th World Championship Pro Enduro completes on Sunday. We then head down to San Diego where the Snapdragon Stadium hosts the next SuperMotocross World Championship round of the season.

Sunday begins in Lienz where we have the second Worldloppet Ski Federation gold race. Remaining in Austria, Ramsau becomes the home of the Junior World Ski Orienteering Championships. The day completes in Spain's sunny Benidorm for Round 13 of the 2023-2024 UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup
