Cardrona on New Zealand's South Island began Sunday with the FIS Junior World Ski Championships for free skiers. They are joined on Monday by the junior freestyle snowboarders to see out the week. The Royal Italian Yacht Club in Genoa hosts a major World Sailing event with the Eight Metre Class World Championship. Moving over to Vejen in Denmark where the Masters gather for the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships. The last Tennis Grand Slam of the season heads to New York City for two weeks of the US Open.

Bowls fans are in Australia's picturesque Gold Coast for the World Bowls Championships starting on Tuesday. Stockholm hosts the World Deaf Orienteering Championships, the 10th major event this year of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf. This week we have four UCI E-MTB Cross-Country World Cup races. Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium hosts the first two on Tuesday and Wednesday, while Bielstein in Germany is the location over the weekend. We complete Tuesday with the 38th Racquetball World Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Wednesday begins in Busan, South Korea, with the World Abilitysport Wheelchair Fencing U17 and U23 World Championships. The very popular FIBA 3x3, the number one urban team sport in the world, heads to Debrecen in Hungary for the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup. There are two days of the ICF Wildwater Canoeing World Cup in České Budějovice, Czechia, while in Athens the Youth gather for the World Aquatics Artistic Swimming Championships until Sunday. With the best location for snow sports is in New Zealand at the moment, another type of skiing will take place in Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy. The International Ski & Snowboard Federation present the Grass Skiing World Championships. The Melges 32 World Championship at Porto Ercole in Italy is the second major sailing competition of the week. In further preparation for the Paris Olympics next year, the city hosts the ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup. Buffalo in New York State hosts the International Street & Ball Hockey Federation Masters World Championship.

A regular for major baseball events, Taipei City opens Thursday with the 16th U18 Baseball World Cup that continues into the following week. Tug of War comes to Sursee in Switzerland for the Outdoor World Championships. After the Masters, we are back at Vejen in Denmark for the ICF Canoe Marathon World ChampionshipsLa Seu d'Urgell, a town located in the Catalan Pyrenees in Spain, brings the best slalom canoeist together for the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup. The next major sailing event is the Six Meter Class World Championship at the well known Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes, Isle of Wight. The second big competition in Las Vegas is the World Master Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship

In another combat sport, Pattaya in Thailand hosts the Ju-Jitsu Beach World Cup starting on Friday. Senior artistic gymnasts are in Mersin, Turkey, for the FIG World Challenge Cup. With Max Verstappen breaking new records, the FIA Formula One World Championship spends the weekend in Italy for Round 15 at the 5.793-kilometre Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The skilful cycling discipline of Trials comes to Aarhus in Denmark for the UCI Trials World Cup. Normally associated with snow sports, the Peyragudes area in France will test the best mountain bikers at the UCI MTB World Cup. Two motorcycling events also begin on Friday. Vertolaye in France hosts the FIM Trial Grand Prix of France, while the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is the location for Grand Prix 11 of the FIM MotoGP World Championship.

Merino Muster is the next Worldloppet Ski Federation gold race on Saturday in Wanaka, New Zealand. The Ski Marathon season then takes a break until January when the next race will feature in China. We next move to the wide open space of Western Australia where Northam is the base for the 5th Women's World Hot Air Balloon Championship. Busan in South Korea is joined by the seniors at the World Abilitysport Wheelchair Fencing World Cup. The second major competition for deaf athletes heads to Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan for the World Deaf Wrestling ChampionshipsKazakh Kuresi is the traditional wrestling style of Kazakhstan. Athletes will be tested at the Senior World Cup on Saturday in Ushtobe, Kazakhstan. Aeromodelling is the discipline for air sports fans in Shabla, Bulgaria, at the 2023 Assen Jordanoff World Cup over the weekend. Crete's capital city Heraklion opens the Mediterranean Beach Games on Saturday. Nasego in the Brescia region of Italy has two World Mountain Running Association Gold World Cup races on the weekend. Cycle-ball has its 4th UCI World Cup in Hähnlein, Germany. Two Speedway races also feature on Saturday. The next round of the FIM Long Track World Championship will be hosted in Morizès, France, while Cardiff is the city to showcase the FIM Speedway World Championship. After Weihai in China, the World Triathlon Cup moves to Valencia, Spain. Paignton on the Cornish Coast of England hosts the Pilot Gig Rowing Masters World Championship. Fortaleza, on Brazil's north-eastern coast, completes the big events on Saturday with the Boccia World Cup

We now only have three races remaining before the Motocross of Nations that completes the FIM Motocross World Championship season. On Sunday Afyonkarahisar hosts the MXGP of Turkey. Belgrade is all set to welcome the start of the World Rowing Championships. The second major World Triathlon race is the Long Distance Duathlon World Championships in Zofingen, Switzerland. The Global Wingsports Association presents the next Wingfoiling World Cup in Hvide Sande on Denmark's western shore. The second major multi-sport event is the 2023 African Para Games with Accra, Ghana, as the host. Bodybuilding comes to Pittsburgh for the Masters Pro World Championships

We are only twelve days away from the first match of the Rugby World Cup in France and 39 days from the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in India.
