The season for modern pentathletes reaches its pinnacle in Egypt's Alexandria. The week belongs to the future stars of the sport as they compete in the UIPM Pentathlon Junior World Championships. Joining them from Monday are the juniors and seniors in the African Championships. Innsbruck hosts two days of sport climbing at the IFSC Paraclimbing World Cup. The first major sailing competition spends the entire week at Norway's Hankø as the island hosts the Soling Class World Championships. Handball is the discipline as the best students from around the world converge on Spain's Antequera to compete in the FISU World University Championships

It is then followed on Tuesday by the greatest minds in the student world at the FISU World University Championships Mind Sports at Uganda's Entebbe. The International Chess Committee of the Deaf presents the World Individual Deaf Chess Championship in Serbia's Belgrade.

Following the paraclimbers in Innsbruck, Bouldering and Lead are the disciplines at the International Federation of Sport Climbing World Cup. We revisit Hang Loose Beach on Wednesday, a popular destination for kiteboarders based near Gizzeria Lido in the south of Italy. The International Kiteboarding Association hosts the A's Youth Foil World Championships and the Kitefoil Masters World Championships

Belgium's Thierry Neuville leads the overall standings as the FIA World Rally Championships moves to Poland's Mikołajki for the Orlen 80th Rally Poland beginning on Thursday. We then travel to near the centre of the country where Łódź hosts the Men's Volleyball Nations League Finals. The Eissporthalle Frankfurt becomes the home for fans of darts at the Professional Darts Corporation World Cup of Darts. Target Sprint experts gather in Switzerland's Hombrechtikon as preparations for the Olympic Games nears completion in the International Sport Shooting Federation World Cup. The 52nd Nissen Cup 2024 in Asosa is the next major FIG World Cup for trampoline gymnasts.  Spain's Tarragona hosts the third instalment within the season of the International Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics World Cup. Moving to La Palma on the Canary Islands, the Global Wingsports Association Wingfoil World Cup Tour includes surf-freestyle and freefly-slalom. We then complete Thursday in Wisconsin's Hudson for clay pigeon shooting experts that includes the 46th World Championship and the World Cup Final.

Friday begins in Türkiye's Manisa where the Under 16s converge for the World Aquatics Water Polo Championships. We have a full week of mountain running. Bar in Montenegro hosts the ISF Youth Skyrunning World Championships. After the weekend in Spain, Formula One moves to the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, for the Austrian Grand Prix. The main powerboating race takes us to Italy's Brindisi. The Grand Prix of Italy is the next stage of the UIM F2 World Championship. Germany's Aachen is the venue for the CHIO Aachen, part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping. The well known TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands hosts Grand Prix 8 of the FIM MotoGP World Championship. From Crans-Montana in Switzerland, the UCI Mountain World Cup Tour moves next to Haute-Savoie in France. The second major sailing event of the week heads to Spain. The Formula 18 World Championship takes place along the Costa Brava coastline.

The youth convene again in Türkiye, but on this occasion the sport is basketball. The FIBA Under 17 Basketball World Cup begins on Saturday and continues until the following Sunday, Joining the events on Saturday, Round 6 of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix takes us to Poland's Gorzów. Rugby Union's future stars gather in South Africa to compete in the World Rugby Under 20 Championship. A sport very popular in the Netherlands, Eindhoven hosts the Under 17 Korfball World Cup. We then cross the border to Belgium's Lommel for Grand Prix 6 of the FIM Sidecar Motocross World Championship. The biggest road cycling race is finally here. Lasting three weeks, the UCI WorldTour - Tour de France also begins on Saturday. The Professional Windsurfers Association World Tour next stops on the island of Gran Canaria. With only four rounds remaining, the FIA Formula E World Championship concludes Rounds 13 & 14 in Oregon's Portland. 

On Sunday the best riders test their skills in Indonesia's Lombok at the next stage of the FIM Motocross World Championship. A mind sport comes to Latvia's Riga. The World Draughts Federation presents the Riga Open World Cup. Adding to a very youthful theme this week, Czechia's Nové Město na Moravě hosts the Junior World Orienteering Championships. Grand Prix of Piemonte, the next round of the FIM Supermoto World Championship in Italy's Busca, closes the week of major events.
