We again begin our week with a boardgame by the World Backgammon Internet Federation. On this occasion the women contest the Online World Championship for one day only. Four other events join proceedings on Monday. The International Mounted Games Association presents the World Team Championship in Arezzo, Italy. We remain in Italy where softball fans descend on Castions di Strada for the XVII Women's Softball World Cup Finals. The sport of Touch is similar to rugby union and rugby league, but without the strong contact element. The city of Nottingham in England hosts the Federation of International Touch World Cup. The first major World Sailing competition of the week features in Newport, Rhode Island, where the Rolex TP52 Class has their World Championships. 

The next boardgame to go online is Renju. Estonia's Laagri will host the World Youth Gomoku Cup beginning on Tuesday.

We start Wednesday with Latin for adults and Standard for juniors as the disciplines in China's Wuxi at the next World DanceSport Federation World Championship. The juniors and under 23s are in action in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, competing in the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships. Taking us high up into the Swiss Alps, Laax brings the best slackliners together at the Highline World Championships. We then cross over to the French Alps where  Briançon features lead and speed in the next International Federation of Sport Climbing World Cup

With the youth still competing in their competition, the seniors join them in Taipei City from Thursday in the World Deaf Athletics Championships. Rally fans will converge on the service park area of Liepāja in Latvia where the next round of the FIA World Rally Championship will be based. A game very popular in Germany, fistball completes the World Tour Finals in Mannheim over four days. Royal Troon in South Ayrshire, Scotland, has been selected to host The Open Championship, the last Golf Major of the year. Made famous and created by the actor Chuck Norris, the martial art of Chun Kuk Do will have their World Championships in Las Vegas. 

The weekend begins in Kuala Lumpur at the 6th edition of the World Underwater Hockey Championship for age group participants. Armenia's Gyumri hosts a major chess tournament presented by the International Physically Disabled Chess Association. The 23rd IPCA World Individual Chess Championship starts on Friday and ends the following Sunday. The 4.381-kilometre Hungaroring in Budapest becomes the home of the next round of the FIA Formula One World Championship. Savate is a combat sport combining elements of English boxing with kicking techniques. Prague has been selected as host of the World Canne de Combat Championships. Staying in Czechia, the next event is the Czech Round of the FIM Superbike World Championship. The third consecutive Global Wingsports Association event at the Canary Islands takes us to the island of Fuerteventura for Surf-Freestyle and Freefly-Slalom.

Modona in Latvia is normally associated with the winter ski season. On Saturday and Sunday, the next Roller Skiing World Cup takes places for both juniors and seniors. Hungary's Lake Balaton serves as the perfect location for the T293 and T293Plus Windsurfing Class World Championships. Only three rounds remain of the FIM Sidecar Motocross World Championship. Grand Prix 8 features at Germany's Straßbessenbach. Several sailing competitions are normally held at Travemünde, also in Germany. This time we have the Canoe Sailing World Championships. Going high up in the French Alps, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains is the next major World Mountain Running World Cup race on Saturday. Our next main sailing event is the International Topper Class World Championships at Spain's unique saltwater lagoon of Mar Menor. The 2024 Formula E season comes to a dramatic end in London on Saturday and Sunday with Rounds 15 and 16. New Zealand's Nick Cassidy leads the overall standings by only 12 points. The only Dryland Sled Dog World Cup race heads to the Sante Fe region of Argentina.

Sunday is very busy for major events. It begins at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan where the penultimate round of the FIM Endurance World Championship will be held. Poland's Słomczyn is the next stop of the FIM Supermoto World Championship. Czechia is the destination of the FIM Motocross World Championship. With eight rounds remaining, Loket hosts the MXGP of Czech Republic. Birmingham in England becomes the centre of attention for Flying Disc experts competing in the World Junior Ultimate Championships. Winter Gardens in Blackpool, England, hosts the Professional Darts Corporation Women's World Matchplay. The full Ironman Triathlon this week takes us to Lake Placid in New York State. The Youth and Teens will showcase their riding skills at the National Barrel Horse Association World Championships in Perry, Georgia. We close Sunday in the Kaiwi Channel located between the islands of O'ahu and Moloka'i in Hawai'i. Testing the endurance and stamina of athletes to the maximum, the Moloka'i 2 O'ahu Paddleboard World Championship will be the M2O Foil Edition.
